Review on Pack Candelabra Frost Krypton Lightbulb by Jamie Smith

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It's about LUMEN, NOT WATTS!

These little lightbulbs put out a lot of light. I bought a new lamp for the guest bathroom with 4 sockets, the necessary bulbs with a maximum power of 60W with an E-12 base (candlestick). I bought lightbulbs from Home Depot which matched the bill and the room was so dark. No one would apply makeup in such dim light or see anything nearby in the mirror. Then I remembered what a colleague had told me a long time ago. The amount of light emitted by a lamp is based on LUMEN, not watts. I checked the lumens of the bulbs I bought from Home Depot and the number was 420. Bulbrite KX60FR bulbs are 960 lumens. That's almost TRIPLE the amount of light coming from that tiny bulb. My husband scoffed at me when he opened the package but when we put them inside he was amazed. It really brightens up the bathroom at this low wattage. The bulbs are supposed to last up to 3000 hours so I don't think I'll have to change them for very long. So the price of $44 for a 4-pack is actually a really good price. *** On a note. two things you need to know. 1) Always wear gloves or use a paper towel when handling LED or halogen lights. Oil from your skin (even if you have washed your face) will cause the lamp to short out more quickly. Don't risk your investment! Protect the life of your lightbulbs. 2) The same principle of lumens and watts applies to flashlights. So if you are looking for a super bright flashlight, choose the one with the highest lumens! You will be amazed by the brightness. Good luck with your lamp purchase!
