This gate is fairly easy to install and strong once in place. You just open it on one side and walk past. You can't do it with that. The ad shows you can lower the top half and easily climb over it. They even cut it in half. I'm 5ft 5in and it's quite difficult for me to step over that. He is a bit big and very easy to trip over. I don't want to climb over it multiple times a day. My mother, of course, had arthritis. In the end the gate worked well in a place where it could stay in place and not move. Used them for the downstairs toilet with the litter box in it to keep the dog out. If you have a place that you don't have to stop by often, this works well. Or it works just fine temporarily. Maybe if you have company for a day and want to keep the dog in a certain room or whatever that kind of thing.
