Puncture Too Easy - Not Good For Backpacking
I was intending to use these for backpacking meals, but they are 3mil which is too thin for that use. They puncture easily being jostled in a backpack and you end up with pin holes that are not fun to find when you are filling the bag with hot water. I recommend buying bags directly from Harvest Right as they are much sturdier (7mil) and they have free shipping.
- Mylar bags are resistant to fire and can help protect your food from damage in the event of a fire
- The bags might become cloudy over time, making it impossible to see the contents
