Review on Sceptre FreeSync E248B FPT168: Frameless DisplayPort Monitor with Built-in Speakers, Wall Mountable & Tilt Adjustment - Full HD 1920X1080P, Flicker-Free & IPS Panel by Keon Houston

Revainrating 5 out of 5

It was worth the risk, but I bought a separate stand

*** Edited to include instructions for 120Hz on XBOX ** In your Xbox Settings: 1. Settings2. TV and display options3. In the Advanced section, select Video Accuracy and Overscan4. Under Display, select HDMI5. Go back one screen, select the resolution under Display, and then select 1080p6. Under Refresh rate, select 120 Hz. I was a bit skeptical based on some of the reviews but I'm very impressed. No dead pixels, bright enough to play in a very bright room, and can be dimmed too. On my Xbox One SI managed to push 1080 at 120Hz and 1440 at 60Hz. All you have to do is make a few tweaks to the settings on the Xbox itself. Most games are encoded at 60Hz, but they look much better on it than on a typical Dell monitor or big-screen TV. After playing on it, I refused to play on a non-gaming monitor. In Call of Duty Warzone, I was able to win my first win with this monitor on the first day of the game. Now I could see the real enemies, not just what I thought was a "bush". Sometimes when I play with other friends I see things they don't see and they ask how I was able to see those enemies because they didn't see it. The monitor helps a lot. The stand tilts very little and doesn't go up or down, so I ended up ordering a VESA compatible stand for less than $25. I definitely recommend this monitor. I've had it for about 3 weeks now and play it every day. I'm sure there are much better monitors out there, but at this price point and with these features, I think the monitor is worth the money.
