It works and pays for itself quickly, however.

This product does what it was designed to do. It offers do-it-yourself diagnostics and an easy reset (think service intervals) for proud Porsche luxury owners who refuse to pay a $150-$200 premium for a third-party oil change. Mission accomplished. The software is a bit reminiscent of the 1990s, but with patience you will get there. If we weren't spoiled by the advanced apps on Apple devices, we'd all think it's the bomb. The big plus is that if you sign up with the manufacturer, you can add other brands. For a modest amount ($70-90), you can use this device to register batteries for a BMW, for example (save another $250-300).
