After replacing the steering cross at Hyundai we started getting traction control and steering indicator lights. Research has shown that the dealer needs to calibrate the steering with their computer. The local dealer wanted hundreds of people to do this job so we went to a local independent repair shop and they said they would check it out for free. So we took it there and their "expert" said the steering angle sensor was bad and needed replacing to calibrate the steering, all for $2300! I knew it was wrong so I researched further to find some kind of steering calibration scan tool and stumbled upon it. Fingers crossed and bought. When I connected it to my car and looked through the easy to navigate menus, I noticed that the VIN did not match the year of my car. Therefore, when selecting a vehicle in the tool, I used the VIN and not the stated years of manufacture. It worked great. The steering calibration process took a few seconds and all error displays disappeared and the steering works properly again. This is my only experience with the tool so far, but it was worth it for that alone.
