The 26x zoom is very smooth, and once it hits the subject you're zooming in on, the autofocus is good for the amount of money you're spending on this bridge camera. This is a good kit. minuses. I've seen quite a few other digital cameras in this price range, and yet this could be one of those "you get what you pay for" scenarios. I think Canon's models cornered the blur reduction market. Buy them all, but I ended up spending $400 instead of $225 and got a camera that fulfilled ALL my needs, not just most.
