I have another Sangean portable radio so when I needed a new clock radio I decided on this one. I only gave four stars because it's difficult to set up. There are so many buttons and gizmos here that it takes a while to figure out how to use them. But don't let that stop you. These are excellent clock radios. Here's what I like: - I'm very sensitive to light and I like to sleep in a dark room. At the very bottom of the device is a dial that allows you to turn off the light on the radio. When the radio is turned on in the morning, the clock radio light gradually brightens, which is welcome when you're trying to wake up. -- I like the fact that you can preset stations. -- If you turned off the device while sleeping, you can still press the button on the front of the device if you want to quickly know what time it is. You press the button again and the front panel turns off. This allows you to set an alarm Monday through Friday only, or 7 days a week. While this works for me, I'm fully aware that it doesn't work for people who work weekends and take breaks during the week. The sound of the radio is excellent. Much better than the clock radio that just died on me. All in all it was a good buy for me. UPDATED RATING I originally rated this 4 stars but I have had this product for over a year now. It's true - the setup is a little tricky. However, once set up it is a great product! We often have power outages. But when it turns on again, this product will reset the time automatically. If it is daylight saving time, the time will also reset automatically.
