Although the suggestion on each ink cartridge urges the user to read the instructions before installing, there are no instructions in the box or online. Attention, the ink port on each cartridge has an almost imperceptible, extremely thin transparent film over a rubber gasket that must be removed before installation. On all of my cartridges, the thin foil adhered tightly to the rubber seal and plastic rim, taking me almost thirty minutes to remove the foil without damaging the rubber seal. This problem can be caused by hot summer temperatures or heat in vehicles. However, Retch 952XL cartridges work as advertised in my HP Officejet Pro 8710 printer.
