I use shackles to connect various felling and stump cables. In the photo, the shackle is between the pull block and the yellow tree saver. Easy to use with large tow straps. I usually carry a small adjustable wrench to loosen a grub screw after it's been energized. I've got it with me because it's for a chainsaw, but it will come in handy once the strings are taut. High quality, highly recommended and cheaper than big stores.
