Review on Delta Faucet RP24096 Stem Assembly by Emmanuel Pictorial

Revainrating 5 out of 5

THE GOOD PART, HERE ARE SOME INSTALLATION TIPS

If the faucet is dripping and won't close, replace the valve seats first. On my unit it's a spare RP4993 and it's only $5 a pair. If that doesn't work or the faucet handle has a leak, you need this part. This is a manufacturer part and works well although it took a full week to ship. First, turn off the water supply and wrap the work area with an old towel to wipe away any liquid. Remove the handle with a hex wrench, then unscrew the cover nut. Grab the stem with pliers and pull it out. Installation is the reverse of removal. TIP: I like to put silicone grease on the threads of the union nut and on the o-ring so that it not only seals better, but is also easier to remove next time. You can also try just replacing the o-ring, but the whole thing. The cartridge assembly is cheap enough that I didn't want to bother with the ring size. It's also cheap insurance because I know I won't have to do the job again for a few years.
