My laptop has 2 USB ports and I needed 3 ports to connect an external keyboard, mouse and headphones. I bought a BYEASY USB hub and it fits my needs perfectly. My operating system is Windows 10. According to the product information, all 4 slots support USB 3.0 with a transfer rate of 5 GB. It's travel-friendly, fairly compact, weighing 1.2 ounces and the cord is just under 12 inches long.
