I installed this surge protector on the wire pin of the oven pin power box to prevent damage to my oven's circuit board. It is used in combination with a surge protector on the sub panel and a whole house surge protector installed on the main panel. Please note that if you live in regions with harsh weather conditions, it is recommended that you use main panel, sub panel, and deployment location suppression to prevent damage to devices that use circuit boards that control their functions. This includes dishwashers, microwave ovens, washers and dryers, ovens, televisions, DVD players, stereos and amplifiers, even ovens and small kitchen appliances like blenders and food processors. If you've ever had to replace the circuit boards included in many of these devices, they typically cost 1/3 the cost of a new replacement device. This is cheap insurance!
