I bought the Starmop Microfibre Wet/Dry Set after losing my mop when moving house. I've used my StarMop a few times and loved it so much I ordered a set of cleaning cloths. Meanwhile, the old mop reappeared, along with the decision to redo the floors. I put the StarMop mop away to use after the floors were redone and continued cleaning with my old mop. While I love my StarMop mop, I am very disappointed that even after half a dozen uses, the mop head bent into a small "V" shape mid-clean when changing attachments. When I first ordered the StarMop Wet/Dry I was wondering if the pads would hold up oh my god how they hold up! And what a grip! I'm not sure how/why this happened. I noticed that the pillow seemed to pinch more than usual as I have a very sore back and felt the extra effort it took to pull it out. As I struggled, I thought I noticed a slight bend in the mop's head as I gave it a final tug. Of course after resting I went to mop the floors and my mop wasn't flat anymore. I tried standing in the middle where it was raised, stood there for a while, and while that helped, it only helped a little. Now the mop is practically useless. Too early in the game for something like this to happen. I will be contacting the company in the next few days to find out how their lifetime guarantee works. Honestly, as much as I love this mop I would be very upset if they didn't honor the warranty and shipped a replacement head at my own expense. I will update Starfiber's customer service and warranty information. At the same time you couldn't ask for a better mop other than actually lasting more than a few uses but when it worked it was AWESOME! The pole's telescopic handle comes in handy, especially when two people of different heights take turns washing the floors. Not lean for taller people and not too big or bulky for petite people. Ideal for reaching the cobwebs on the ceiling without a ladder. Unless you are very tall, you will need to use stairs for vaulted and cathedral ceilings. The large size allows you to work quickly in large spaces, as does the ease of turning your head. Without effort, it's easy to go straight to the baseboard and back to long, wide, clean mid shots. The large shaggy dust nozzle picks up dust quite well, even something light, but larger items that have been swept off from the outside get stuck in the mop. I have to say that there are times when cleaning the house takes a backseat to my back pain and when I can finally stand and mop the floor I have to replace the feather duster or dust like that more often. In addition to cleaning I usually wipe down 2 hardwood rags and this can double or even triple the number of pads if I can't clean regularly. Someone complained that the pillow does not collect dust. If your rug isn't picking up dust, it's either because it's picked up the most dust it can (which holds very little), or you can do like a friend and wash the rug in hot water with fabric softener. which destroys the efficiency of the fibers. We were able to get the pad to stick better by washing it in warm vinegar and water a few times. This mop is very light which is a plus for those suffering from back pain. UPDATE: WOW! I am very disappointed to announce that I will now be changing my 5 star rating to 1 star. I think a product designed to last should be used more than a few times right? Disappointing customer service. Written requests went unanswered, called multiple times and received a VM box barely leaving enough time to give a name and # let alone your request or speaking to an operator only to switch to the same VM it was uncomfortable. The joy of hearing someone finally answer the phone quickly turns to disappointment as I wonder if they even speak the same language as before. Aside from the local accent, which I know very well, there were other issues, this person shouldn't be working with clients. It would be a fun episode of Seinfeld. But it wasn't that funny when I had to understand what that person was saying! It has been determined that YOU are responsible for returning the defective product to them. If they think it's a manufacturing defect, they'll replace the product and you'll have to pay for that too. If it's not a manufacturing defect, you can either pay for the defective item to be returned or buy a replacement (it seemed like there was some leeway in shipping costs if you made a purchase, but I'm not sure ). The shipping cost (for me) would be around $20. INADMISSIBLE! AND NO THANKS! This lifetime guarantee is really worth nothing. Frustrated and trying to understand CSR I didn't bother to jump through any other hurdles as everything was controversial. Who is willing to pay almost as much for shipping as for a product when they can spend their money on a better product? I wish I could hear other feedback on the short lifespan of this product.
