Review on ๐Ÿ”ฅ Classic Zippo Black Crackle Lighter: Timeless Style and Dependable Flame by David Banks

Revainrating 5 out of 5

A sumptuous lighter with a story behind its unique finish.

Great lighter with a unique finish. Kind of rough, but smooth at the same time. Made the same way as all Zippo for ages. And of course they fix it if it ever breaks, which is a throwback to the good old days when companies backed their products. One thing I always do when I get a new Zippo is take out the stuffing and wick and repackage it (with the same stuffing and wick). I do this because they seem to grab them in about 30 seconds, so it's not really well done. However, it doesn't matter. It's easy to do. I just package it so that the wick goes through the fill but in a way that if it burns through you can easily pull out some more wick and you'll have to uncover a new piece, although it takes a VERY long time. if you keep your lighter full and never try to light it when it's dry. This ensures that you will not have to open a new wick for many years. All in all this is a great lighter with a very unique finish and a very interesting story behind it. The expansion took place due to necessity during the Second World War. The metals they normally used were not available and the ones available corroded very easily so they developed a black burned finish which was very durable and protected the metal. Pretty neat. A beautiful and durable lighter that you will not regret buying.
