Review on Enhanced Precision with Supco VG64 Digital Connection by Edwin White

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Internal leaks make it worse than useless. Internal leaks force you to look for non-existent system leaks.

When we first used this we drew a vacuum to 410 microns, isolated the pump, and then turned the pump off. The vacuum slowly increased to 1200-1300 microns. Assuming we had a leak, we pressurized the system and checked all connections for leaks. The pressure seemed to stay at 250psi. No leaks were found so we repeated the evacuation with new o-rings in the hoses and a different pump isolation valve with the same results. We figured we had a very small leak that we just couldn't find. I disassembled and checked all 8 fittings and one adapter. Repeated the vacuum with the same results as the first time. I borrowed a micrometer and tested again. The vacuum survived. We conclude that this meter will leak even when fully isolated. This is not an incorrect reading as the borrowed pressure gauge confirmed the loss of vacuum while the Supco was in the system. This resulted in wasting too much time trying another. Too bad because I love the design, the combination hook and the magnetic holder. As always, the Revain returns process is simple and professional.

Pros
  • Automatically shuts off eight hours after the alarm goes off and when the alarm goes off
Cons
  • Slightly torn
