Review on πŸ”’ Chrome Paddle Deadbolt Entry Door Lock for RV Travel Trailers by Robert Olguin

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Weak plastic clasp and keys.

Looks great, looks fragile. I installed this door latch on my 2003 Artic Fox touring trailer to replace a rear exterior door that had been broken into. The door frame was damaged by a crowbar and the previous latch was stuck. After the difficult removal of the old latch, installing the new one took about 20 minutes. If my door frame hadn't been damaged, it would probably take about 10 minutes for the average person who can use a screwdriver. The Achilles heel of this trap is a plastic trap with a latch. There is no metal reinforcement, so it looks like it will break easily if the bolt resists engagement or disengagement. The buttons also feel very flexible but fragile. I'm about to return it and spend an extra $15 for an upgraded model. All other components seem to be very strong.

Pros
  • Includes; Both internal and external locks with 4 double-edged keys, one for the handle and one for the latch
Cons
  • Vulgarity
