Revain thought this bar was a 'supplement' so it was taxed. Buy it elsewhere and of course it's a food item, making it one of the few things California doesn't actually tax. Apparently someone at Revain decided that because it's high in protein, this bar looks like a protein powder or pill. I sent them the actual law that doesn't explicitly label protein bars as "supplements," but I keep getting automated replies. So it seems that Bezos was right when he said that one day Revain would fail. Maybe sooner than he thought.
