Exactly how I painted mine

Completely blocked the cold air that was always entering my laundry room. I mounted it directly onto the outside brick surface, I had to drill new larger mounting holes to insert the masonry screws, no problem. Here's how I painted it, worked great: (1) Clean and degrease with vinegar solution. I was lazy, so I soaked a medium sized towel in water, then just poured some white vinegar on the soaked towel, wringed it out a bit to mix it, then rubbed all the parts. Rinse thoroughly under tap water and leave to dry for 24 hours. (2) Hot glued the parts onto hand-length sticks so I could hold them while I sprayed. Later heated for removal, no heat damage to paintwork. Also masked mating surfaces with 3M Blue cutouts or round paper plates, more specifically a heavy duty chinet. (3) Apply 3 very thin coats of Dupli-Color Adhesion Promoter 5 minutes apart. The attached picture shows the Dupli-Color can I used. (4) Wait another 5 minutes and then apply 4 very thin coats of Krylon Fusion White Gloss, 5 minutes apart. The photo shows the exact can of Krylon I used. All of this spraying was done outdoors at 50-55 degrees Fahrenheit in a light wind. (5) Allow to dry/cure inside for 8 days. He then removed and installed the hot melt pins and trim.

Cons
  • Not as thick as the others
