Review on πŸ“ Fiskars SureCut Deluxe Craft Paper Trimmer 12 Inch - Precise Cutting Tool for Crafts & Scrapbooking by Kristen Reid

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Fold the paper along the edge; Blade dulls quickly.

I am very disappointed in this paper cutter. Cards. Then it starts to make torn edges and I have to use a nail file to get rid of any scuffs. That doesn't always work. For me, the worst design feature is that there is a wider channel where the blade goes over the edge of the paper than any other paper cutter I've used. The paper comes out with a curled edge as it slides into the larger channel. I have to use a bone folder to smooth it out. A nice feature is that the platform slides out to the right of the blade. This is useful for narrow cuts in cardboard. I've had this trimmer for half a year now and have had to replace the blade 3 times. There are two packs of replacement blades, so in 6 months I've used up 6 replacement blades - it costs more than the price of the trimmer itself. I'm buying a self-sharpening guillotine cutter. It only costs a few dollars more than this. I never have to buy replacement blades and the cuts come out cleaner and sharper. I wouldn't recommend this for cutting cardboard.

Pros
  • Self-leveling swing arm extends measuring platform over 15 inches for precise cutting of very large craft materials
Cons
  • Miscellaneous Miscellaneous
