4 out of 5....* I only give 5 stars for exceptional products.* Excellent quality shoes.* Love the outsole* Easy to put on without a tie. My first impressions were exactly the same as what we received. These are great shoes in almost every way. But that's what you would expect for the price. Of course, this isn't an $8.00 pair of shoes you'll find at a discount store, and given the price, the performance and durability are better. I would say they are. It has really good workmanship, great materials, great fit and finish. They fit exactly as expected and I haven't seen them small or large so you can order with confidence. Your child can certainly use these as walking shoes if they wish, but remember these are not walking shoes. I ordered these because my boys don't like shoes like most boys do and I wanted something really durable for a variety of activities. My 10 year old wears them to school every day and hasn't complained. Ideal for relaxing, playing football and generally running. They appear to be very durable and so far so good. If they fall apart prematurely I'll update this review but I have a feeling he'll outgrow them before they fall apart. They're "off-brand" but to be honest, they're probably made in the same factory as the names you know. For such a price you could buy name brand clothing but I can't find this style anywhere. They are advertised as sandals and they are true. The shoe is very flexible but not so flimsy that it loses its purpose, and it also has little to no arch support. I would still consider letting my other son who has a bit of pronation (poor arch support) wear them. They also have a wider toe box than most shoes. My son is happy with it and so am I. 4 stars because 1. Great shoes overall and I would have given 5 stars if it wasn't for the price. It's certainly not super expensive, but in this price range you get what you expect and therefore I can't justify 5 stars.2. Excellent construction, materials and style. They are really well made and arrived as advertised. I really like the style as it offers excellent durability.3. Slightly limited color choices but my kids don't care. For this price range this is a pretty good shoe and you get the performance and quality you expect. Great all round shoe and good for light hikes but definitely not boots.
