After reading EVERY review on each brand I bought this swimsuit. My 4 year old girl is 42 inches tall and weighs 38 pounds. Your waist is 21 inches, chest is probably the same or close. I ordered a small one showing 4-6. She usually wears 4/5T. The label on it when received reads 4-5. The quality of these tights is excellent compared to others you will find at Wal-Mart or Target. The sleeves of the swimsuit are long, it offers a lot of options and it fits as expected. Her circumference is 40/41. That lion on her isn't bulging. She has some leeway, but not much. If your kid is greater than 5, close to 6, the size is larger. She wears it as the base for her costume. And the nude color suits her perfectly. Suitable for light and fair skin tones.
