The book situation has gotten out of control lately and I've decided it's finally time to put a special shelf for children's books in the playroom. My criteria for this bookshelf are: - Sturdy and well made - Easy to assemble - Holds many books INCLUDING large books (like our hardcover Pete the Cat collection). Price. This is a very well made and well designed bookcase that looks very good when fully stocked with books. The materials are high quality, unlike most bookshelves you can order for less than $100, and they're very durable. My son, niece and nephew (6, 3 and 2) sat on the shelves while I assembled them because individually they looked like little benches and held their weight well. This thing can hold a lot of books! I love the colors and the design and I love that you can start with just two shelves and add a third later if you want or arrange the colors in any order you like. My son has autism so we have a special place in our room. Hearts for colorful puzzle pieces, but they're cute for any kid. Ours had a few dents on some items and the box looked like it had been very rough in transit but customer service took care of us and that doesn't reflect in the product itself. I definitely recommend this bookshelf if you're looking for something cute, well-made, and durable that can hold lots of books of different sizes.
