Review on πŸ”Š Texsens Bluetooth Speaker Light Bulb by Ali Anjani

Revainrating 5 out of 5

Excellent but with some quirks.

Light: Extremely bright but can be dimmed with the remote control. I can't imagine anyone feeling like there isn't enough light. The brightest setting is likely to be the same as a 100 watt incandescent, or at least close to it. It also has different color settings, as well as the ability to strobe, color transition, or flash in sync with the music you're playing (and this helps when the song has heavy drumbeats like rap, electronic music, etc.). it's easier for the bulb to pick up the beat.) Technology: Bluetooth works well over 20 feet. If I had gone further I would have ended up in a different room, so it doesn't seem practical. Be that as it may, it's designed to operate unhindered at a distance of 10 meters, which I think is about 33 feet. I can't vouch for that distance because the layout of my apartment would force me to put a wall between the phone and the lightbulb, but I can confirm it works fine at around 20 feet. Sound: in relation to real sound. The quality is about as good as one would expect considering the sound comes from a lightbulb. There's not much bass, but it's a noticeable improvement over using the phone. If you've ever played around with the smaller wireless Bluetooth speakers at Best Buy or Target, I'd say they're about on par. Where it really shines is in the volume. It can get surprisingly loud before noticeable distortion begins. I played music on it while in the shower and could easily hear it over the rushing water. I actually turned it down a notch because it was a bit louder than I wanted as it bounced off the shower walls. However, this is a small speaker and has its limitations. If you want music playing in the bathroom, I think it's as loud as you want, and possibly louder. However, if you're trying to throw a party and use that as your main music source, filling the entire living room and hearing everyone talking is probably not worth it. It's a massive improvement over putting your phone in a single cup and will probably do for something casual like an evening game with 4-5 friends, but you definitely won't feel a kick in your chest if you want to. go all out with it. There's also a feature on the remote that lets you turn the lights off completely but still play music if you want to save power and just use it as a speaker, which is nice. the delay between clicking a light switch and that light turning on. It's fine, but worth knowing in advance. Also, it makes a small startup sound when it's on and another sound when paired with a Bluetooth source. It sounds high tech on one hand, but when you have the same thing I do (bathroom connected to master bedroom) there's a guilt to it that you can wake up anyone sleeping in the room with you when she's doing her thing. "duh-duh!" sounds when you go to the bathroom in the middle of the night. I wish there was a way to make this sound optional, but I haven't found one yet. Even if it's little things. I surprised my girlfriend with this and it was fun watching her look around the bathroom trying to figure out where the music was coming from. :) Overall: Highly recommend if you want something better/louder than phone speakers for use in a small bedroom or bathroom. That's about the same sound quality/volume as a small wireless Bluetooth speaker and doesn't take up real estate on your desk or counter. It's not ideal if you want to spend a whole party with him, but it should be obvious.
