Reversible leather (colored leather inside appears to be covered with patent leather) apparently with some padding in between. Looks good on the outside and protects your dog's neck on the inside. Exactly what I was looking for. The size was accurate. When choosing a collar size, remember to add about 1 inch to your dog's actual neck size and you won't be disappointed. Looks great and works on Greyhounds. I get compliments on this collar all the time. I love this collar so much that I ordered a second collar when the original collar I bought wore out. It was different, with less attention to detail (some re-stitching) and the skin was shinier than the original. It's still a great choker, but there is some "party" variation to be expected.
