I don't play much on my Wii U and took it out for a Mario cart last weekend but it wouldn't turn on. I plugged the cable into a 110V AC outlet to test the output voltage and read the required 15V on my trusty multimeter. There was no V output so I figured she was open circuited. I assumed the lightning got it while it was plugged in since it wasn't on the surge protector in my bonus room. After reading a bit on the old internet and realizing that others had seen this problem, the solution was to buy a new power cord like this one, 14.99. Turn it on and it lights up instantly. I was cool, despite the reviews suggesting the plug was installed incorrectly, I had everything ok and working as it should. The only reason I looked at the durability is that I don't know how long it will last since I just got it.
