Decent grip for the money

Edit: The new grip will hold up even after heavy use at an unbeatable price. The extra battery capacity makes a big difference, definitely recommended, especially for those on a budget. Edit: Had to replace, noticed 1 battery connector is missing for the AA battery holder, it holds six batteries so won't work without it. Otherwise still a decent deal for the money. I bought it mainly to increase the battery capacity of my 6D as I have a couple of large lenses and use wifi for long distance shooting etc and anyone with a 6D knows the GPS sucks. batteries too. The only thing I don't do often is shoot vertically. Of course I tested the vertical grip and it works great. All buttons feel good and the dial works as it should, and yes, 'off'. On" Toggles the grip controls. While it's on, all the buttons on the camera body continue to function as they should. None of the downsides I've read about this capture apply to the device I've received, at least so far .I say this as some have written it worked well then there were problems.I bought it over the holidays (before Turkey) so the return period has been extended to the end of January so hopefully it doesn't matter.Fits well to the body no gaps and the battery compartment is secure with no play I would like the battery latch to engage a little more securely but I don't think that would be a big issue I would say it's a fairly wide grip, I have big hands so this works for me. It also feels good and solid with the batteries installed. What I don't really care about is the texture of the rubber. I don't mean the Tex ture pattern but the actual feel of the rubber. It feels a little slippery and a little shinier than the 6D, but it's not as shiny as the product photos, which is a good thing. For the most part, it's a pretty good combination of color and pattern. I've talked about choosing more expensive grips, mainly the Vello, but based on my experience with other items I've bought from them they will be about the same level as this one (and probably from the same Chinese factory!). Lots of vertical portraits etc I'd probably close my eyes while hitting the buy button on the Canon grip but not all I really need is extra capacity. and I think it will do well.
