Trying to make my climbing/travel gear 'perfect' I bought these as they are made of durable lightweight titanium. I use a tent with trekking poles (duplex prongs) and wanted the stakes to go into the frozen hard ground easily as all my other aluminum tripod stakes break when I try to install or remove them. I switched to high strength nails. Housing camps, and they liked the way they worked, but damn heavy for tent poles. They have really sharp ends that make it easy to get into the ground, if the ground was really soft like forest soil I would stick them into the ground. at a steeper angle so they don't pull out. They are long enough to take a good bite. I attach myself to the small hole at the top. I removed the small bits of paracord but I'm sure you can just tie them up and they will work. Overall very satisfied, shipping took longer than most items I order from Amazon but that is because they ship from China. Vargo sells the same product but you have to buy them by the piece and they were cheaper and I don't mind a few extras as I really only need 6 of these. I am happy with my purchase. You can also use titanium chopsticks.
