These boots are ideal for snow. They keep my boys feet warm and toasty even without socks (the boot has a removable wool lining) in the New York winter. I used the sizing from the website and I think they fit true to size, but with the addition of an insock I would order a size (or two) bigger next time. When the snow turns to slush these boots are disappointing as they leak and the inside gets so wet I had to remove the liner to wash and hang dry. As such, they are not all-round winter boots, but they work great on snow and ice.
