Review on Rubbermaid Party Platter Clear 1910335 by Heather White

This really is the perfect way to get everyone at the table eating raw fruit and veg. We were very happy with it - it seems sturdy and fits a lot of food (we usually use the center piece for more veggies, not gravy). The lid is nice and comfortable. We have had it for almost a year now and have been using it for about 6 months. I'd give it five stars, but here's the thing: While taking it out of the fridge this morning, I accidentally dropped it on the floor. There was almost nothing inside except the lid, which was tightly closed, ripped and ripped and ripped! It's like it's made of glass instead of rubber or plastic composite. I couldn't find a replacement cap and since the item isn't overly expensive I went ahead and ordered another whole unit. I have also written to Rubbermaid about this issue and asked if the cover could be replaced. I wish there was something similar in ceramic with a lid, preferably lighter (maybe wood?), same overall size inside and out, but couldn't find anything. (And yes, if I dropped the pottery I would lose it all, but still for something we've been using daily for the past half year.) Either way, it's a really great item and I wish they had it done during the tenure. other sizes. Just the top irritating and how brittle it has become after being in a cold fridge. Definitely not a freezer; just a fridge.
