I bought a used Surface Pro 4 that came with a third party power supply. It was very cheaply made and broke within two weeks. In particular, the connection between the magnetic connector and the cable came loose as this connection was subjected to repeated mechanical stress. Despite Microsoft's unusual design choices, I was reluctant to purchase another third-party adapter. But based on the feedback, I decided to try the GSNOW replacement adapter. I have to say that I am very satisfied with my purchase. The device is well made and the mentioned hinge shows no signs of wear or strain even after a month of intensive daily use. The extra USB charging port was more useful than I expected (I have a pen that charges with micro USB). The cable isn't as flexible as the Microsoft OEM adapter, but it's not stiff, kinked, or in the way. Overall I'm surprised and very happy with the GSNOW adapter for my Surface Pro 4 and will buy a second one for my living room so I don't have to unplug it all the time.
