As a long time Hori user I wanted to try something different and came across either the Razer Panthera Evo or the Qanba Obsidian - I chose the latter. After connecting to the PS4, I made sure the switch was set to PS4 (not PS3 or PC) and the PS button was pressed to initialize the joystick. and nothing. Tried several times and still nothing. I then tried disconnecting and reconnecting the USB to see if that fixed the problem and that worked (temporarily). The LED indicators lit up and all buttons + joystick worked 100%. I wanted to make sure the steps above were a permanent fix, so I restarted my PS4 and tried initializing the joystick with the PS button. and again nothing. Tried several times but without success. I unplugged and plugged the USB stick back in to see if that fixed the problem and it worked (again). Conclusion: After continuously testing the system, it seems to me that the only way to initialize this controller is to disconnect and reconnect the USB while the PS4 is on. I'm pretty sure Qanba Obsidian is a great stick (when it works), but this experience was extremely disappointing, especially for a $200 stick. Think I'll stick with the Hori or try the Razer Panthera Evo.
