Pressed cardboard consists of several layers of paper which when compressed under heat and pressure form a rigid material. In English: The flat parts of the case are thick cardboard with a plastic sticker on top. I hope you don't think this case is dragging on too long. Make sure you only use it for fragile test equipment. If you need a tool kit, then look elsewhere. I'll make a boom box out of it. I was hoping for something more water resistant and wrongly assumed the sides are aluminum like other boxes I've bought that look like this one with aluminum corners.
