Terrible microphone!

If the microphone is not directly in front of your mouth, it is very difficult for the person on the other end to hear you. Bought these to replace an old pair that were good but broken and a pair for my wife. I would like to know how bad the microphone is in the new model. You spent good money on a cheap product. Battery life is good and they are comfortable. I just hate putting the mic to my mouth so people can hear me. I don't speak softly.
