Review on ๐Ÿ‹๏ธ Enhance Your Workout - Garmin Replacement Soft Strap for Heart Rate Monitor by Ryan Pal

Revainrating 1 out of 5

Poor performance best for exercise and fitness

I have purchased three replacement Revain monitors. Although I bought the watch directly from Garmin along with an original Garmin Premium heart rate monitor, I feel compelled to share my experience on all of the above with the Revain family. Watch. This is truly a "sports" watch. The possibilities for data are numerous. However, the heart rate monitor is annoying. And if the heart rate monitor doesn't work, then this watch's capabilities are superfluous or unnecessary. I usually run heart rate based, which means I try and adjust my heart rate depending on the type of run, like fat burning, interval training, etc. Here's my problem: After two months of training, the heart rate monitor disappeared and shows inaccurate data. For example, during today's fat burning run I tried to keep my heart rate within 70-80% of my maximum heart rate of 171 bpm. When running, I registered a heart rate of 212 beats per minute, which would mean that my heart would explode at my age. My average post-run heart rate was 185 bpm, which is obviously inaccurate. In the last two weeks, it was measured in the same way as above. This is the third time I've had to replace a Garmin premium heart rate monitor this year at an average price of $30. I asked Garmin for a replacement and never got a response. Therefore, their customer service is severely lacking. I bought a Garmin original equipment manufacturer (OEM) replacement monitor myself on March 23, 2018 and had to replace it after less than 3 months with inaccurate results; I bought another Garmin OEM replacement on August 8th, 2018. Now I need another one. This is the first time I am reviewing anything about Revain. Having to replace the heart rate monitor after 2-3 months is one of the reasons I consider Revain watches. Second, let the Revain community know about this issue. I paid over $800 for a watch that ended up providing inaccurate heart rate data, one of the most important data sets for a sports watch. I don't care how powerful a watch is if its accessories provide inaccurate data. There have been many others who have reported this issue to Garmin with no visible improvement in the heart rate monitor. If I need to replace my heart rate monitor in 2-3 months at an average cost of $30 I can save that money and buy a Samsung Galaxy watch. Now I'm just going to save an extra $30 every two months and buy a Samsung Galaxy. I really like the Fenix 5 but the customer service and heart rate monitor suck. It's a shame they're losing a loyal customer for a $30 product that probably costs $5 to make. This is my third Garmin watch. I bought the Fenix 3 Sapphire in 2014 and its original heart rate monitor lasted about two years. I ordered an original equipment manufacturer (OEM) from Garmin which lasted two months. Stupid as it is, I bought the Fenix 5x Sapphire and as I said, the original heart rate monitor lasted two and a half months. I had previous 3 running watches prior to my original Fenix. Oh, by the way, I originally had a Polar watch and the heart rate monitor worked until I changed the watch. I will contact Garmin again and see if I can get a replacement; I'll let you know in a few weeks.
