I chose this model because I like the design. I have a portable bluetooth speaker that I have been using for many years. I carry it from room to room in my apartment when listening to audio books or music. I saw this soundbar and thought I could kill two birds with one stone. A speaker in the office, in the kitchen and on the TV. Household acoustics without installation, right? Unfortunately, the soundbar showed up. I have to say looks as advertised. The materials are cheaper and I worry that if I drop one of the satellite speakers on a tile it will shatter into a million pieces. Connecting and disconnecting the speakers requires some effort. Speaker range is spotty at best, and that's within 5 feet, let alone in a room of its own. As for the sound itself, it's a disaster. The quality of the base panel is about the same as a $20 Bluetooth speaker I've used for years, and not much better than my TV's built-in speakers. Satellite speakers don't even achieve this sound quality. My 80's clock radio, which I inherited from my parents, has a cleaner sound. Grain and echo are two words I would use to describe them. The biggest problem, however, is that the Bluetooth connection itself is poorly designed. As I mentioned, I listen to a lot of audio books, but for some reason the soundbar seems to turn itself off or stop working when the soundbar registers silence, which means there's a delay of about half a second when the music or the audio book starts again. a sound is playing, so it ends on the third or fourth word of the sentence, and you can miss a lot. This happens whenever the transmitted audio has a pause of any length and is unaffected by range, making the soundbar nearly unusable for Bluetooth. Use your money for something else.
