Review on Efficient 12V Solar Water Heater Circulation Pump with Low Noise - bayite BYT-7A015 by Julian Davidson

Great little brew pump.

Great little brew pump. I use this 180F hot water circulation pump primarily on the hot side of my heat exchanger to control the mash temperature while recirculating mash water through the other side of the heat exchanger. I have another version of this pump that recirculates the wort through the other side of the heat exchanger. I have this one that is powered by an InkBird temperature controller when I'm controlling the mash temperature and a switched output when water is running into my hot liquor tank. still little effort for priming. I have to run water from a pressure source through the piping system to make sure it's full, otherwise it takes a very long time for the pump to remove even a small amount of air trapped in the suction line. This can be quite difficult if you forget to fill the suction line before heating the water source. I also set up the piping system so that this pump can deliver my hot rinse water to my hot liquor tank. In testing this pump, I found that when flowing through 8 feet of 1/2 inch ID hoses, multiple valves, and raising hot water 7 feet to fill the hot solution reservoir, the flow rate was 2.1 gallons per minute. So if you're looking for an inexpensive pump that can handle hot liquids and has a good flow rate for circulating homemade moonshine, this is a very good option. I've only used this pump for brewing for 2 days so I can't comment on its durability but so far it's working exactly as I hoped. I didn't find any issues with its throttle performance either (2.1 GPM is more than I need for both mash recirculation and purging.
