I wouldn't necessarily call it a safe. Because it doesn't protect anything. When it is locked, you can open it with a spoon when it is "locked". Although I kept it after figuring it out as it only worked to have the appearance of a lockable box, the plastic handle you twist to open eventually broke after minimal use.
