This is an excellent product in every way and is a massive improvement over the DuroZone it replaced. Ecojay is the only brand I would recommend for DYI based on my experience. The quality and engineering is impressive, especially at this price point. The circuit board and components look very high quality. The design is simple and elegant. I have worked with Honeywell commercial HVAC systems and would rate them higher in quality. I was pleased to learn that the basic design has been refined over a decade to improve reliability and features, so I expect it to be very strong, dependable and last much longer than the warranty. LED indicators for each connection status make troubleshooting incredibly easy. because you can always see exactly what the controller and thermostats are doing. I have an Ecobee thermostat so I can cycle through the different settings by watching the panel lights. I've actually thought about attaching a cheap wifi camera so I can check the status without going underground. According to tech support, this is not uncommon. The flow temperature sensor offers additional protection against excessive and insufficient temperatures. I've found that it needs to be connected or only the main zone will work. The instructions are clear and simple but I had to contact the support team who were extremely responsive and helped with some issues moving from the main zone. DuroZone controller so wiring wasn't just 1-to-1. Support explained the problems with the Durozone damper (it's weird how it's signaled to close) and emailed the schematic. While spring-loaded screwless contacts simplify wiring, I prefer screw terminals for a durable and secure connection, since the wire cannot come loose when pulled on a properly installed screw terminal. I had to double the wires in a couple of terminals where I would have really preferred screws. I used zip ties to secure the wires to the loops on the mounting bracket to keep the tension in the right direction. I needed a screwdriver to remove the wires from the old controller so I had a screwdriver to connect the new one with screw terminals.
