Flap of air conditioning and heating zone defective.

This part saved me hundreds of dollars. Problems began with maintaining the temperature in different zones. The service engineer suggested adding a door between the upper and lower floors. (At least 10 years without previous releases). I fixed the problem myself and found that the motor turning the flap to the open position was not working. No channel swaps, no new damper and no big bills. Just a small motor with a set screw saved me hundreds. Works like a charm and very easy to fix

Pros
  • Full metal gears inside, durable construction
Cons
  • Crumpled

In other words, you don't get a true 90 degree damper rotation. I had to adjust the set screw in relation to the damper so that it closes fully, which means it does NOT open fully. I made this decision during installation. Yes, I adjusted the mechanical stops, but the motor…

When I called the HVAC technician to come out and look at the system, he almost immediately determined that the zone valve was faulty. By disconnecting the valve from the circuit, the switching relay stopped sneezing and the boiler system was back in working order. The HVAC guy tells me the motor needs to be…
