SparkFun Blower Squirrel Cage 12V Review

This fan worked great on my new prototype. The normal circuit was too much pressure for the tiny 22 ga. Wire though (same here another comment). No luck re-soldering (like someone else here did). I've ordered another one - and this time I'm going to use my hot glue gun to hold the wires together - THEY ARE SPURBS! (EDIT - see fix glue gun) Also used a drainage mesh to protect the inlet.

Moves large volumes of air in a compact package. Very quiet. Exactly what I needed. I used 1-1/4" ID corrugated flexible hose (like a vacuum hose) to slip it over the fan outlet and pushed hot air behind the refrigerator cabinet in my RV through the 1-1/4" diameter outlet to blow out. 2 inches and that's all I had. space for the hose. Works perfectly. I connected a backlit switch to remind me it's on. Otherwise it would have been so quiet, I wouldn't have known.

China, as usual, sends the wrong electronics. This fan allowed the second set of 5kW controllers with 3kW motor not to catch fire like the first set of 3kW motor did. I had to shorten the wiring to accommodate the over current from X2 and connect the motor through the 3kW motor wiring for cooling as well as venting. The motor is now running at half temperature and the cable insulation has not melted. Success! BIG SQUIRREN CAGE BLOWER again! I added a Tecumseh Turf engine air filter and it fits…
