Update below: Anker reached out and offered to send a longer cable. I received a 6ft cord that allows me to place it on my desk between my computer monitors just like I planned from the start. Excellent customer service. The device works fine. I would rate this higher (4 or 5 stars) but for a new buyer if they don't change their shipping method they still get a ridiculously short cable.
