I made the mistake of ordering a pound of mini biohome media from Best Buy for 21 dollars. When I received the bag I realized it couldn't fill 1/2 of one of my canister filter trays. Thankfully I read another review that said it's more cost effective to order it from the manufacturer. I went to the Great Wave Engineering site and shopped for it. I couldn't believe the difference in price. I had to pay for shipping but it was still much cheaper. Instead of 21 dollars per lb. It is 15 dollars per kg. One kg=2.2lbs so that come out to approximately 6.50 per pound. I ordered 2 kg, 4.4 lbs and paid 31 dollars plus 12 dollars shipping. 43 dollars total. 4 lbs would have cost 80 dollars through Best Buy. So if you want to sedt up your rig like the Pond Guru, you better go over to the Great Wave Engineering site.
