The Micca MB42-C center channel speakers offer excellent value for small to medium sized homes. Theatrical installations, especially when combined with a solid subwoofer and a higher crossover point of around 200Hz. The cabinets are relatively light, 1/4" chipboard and of ported construction, so expectations should be reasonable. But the sound is great for the money. used in the much more expensive Micca MB42X-C, and the midrange quality has been noticeably improved. Quite good in the default configuration. But the basic center speaker Micca MB42-C uses the natural rolloff from the woofer to the tweeter without a crossover. It definitely works. But what remains is something of a neutral zone where the frequencies of the drivers overlap and the frequency response of one driver fades as the other emerges. Install if you are careful. All in all a great little speaker for a home theater system. Although it's called the center channel, I bought five of these and they work well for all five points of a surround sound system when the speaker size and configuration are adjusted to have the amplifier installed properly. RECOMMENDED.
