I confess that I was skeptical about these robot vacuum cleaners. A lot of my neighbors and friends have them, but they seem weak (no power) so they don't clean well. I have to say that this little device from Ultenic has quite a bit of power. As a skeptic, I didn't want to spend more than $500 on a device, but I still wanted the most powerful suction I could find. The suction power of 2200 Pa on this unit was the best in its class and cost half the price of higher-end units. This device also claimed to work well on both carpeted and hardwood floors. My kitchen and hallway are hardwood, and the living room has fairly thick carpet, so I was really wondering if it could work well on both. I am happy to report that it is up to the task! This is really handy because it automatically cleans wooden floors so they can be mopped quickly and easily without having to sweep first. Judging by the full trash cans and carpet cleaning, it's also capable of pulling dust and dirt from thick carpets. It quickly tackles pet hair and other common dirt. From an application perspective, it was easy to set up and intuitive to use. I followed the instructions in the box and everything synced to the wifi and was up and running in about 5 minutes. I set a daily schedule for it to run and have hardly had to use the app since, although it's nice to see the loading and cleaning stats if you so choose. It once got stuck under a low-gap coffee table, so the app was helpful in letting it ring so I could easily find it (it usually automatically returns to the charger when it's done). Note: It comes with a magnetic tape that you can use to block off the areas you want to avoid. I put a few under that low coffee table and he's stayed away from that spot ever since. For the manual start I actually like to use the supplied remote control. I keep the remote near the vacuum's charging base so it's easy to press a button and it's gone. It moves somewhat irregularly, but manages to cover the entire floor area and the edges of the room. It's actually quite hypnotic to watch. Luckily it's pretty quiet even at high power so it won't bother you (or you can always arrange a night job if you have pets etc). Overall this unit was excellent value for money. . Strong suction is really the key. The app just works (like the remote control) - simple and straightforward. It has many additional functions and is also easy to clean. For that he gets 5 stars. I'm glad I saved money compared to much more expensive devices, but I didn't have to compromise on performance and ease of use.
