I have used an old fashioned mop handle for many years and use rags and old towels instead of a regular mop like my grandmother used to do. However, I read a book where our hero's mother was a professional cleaner and used mops in a rolling motion along the edge of the carpet along the baseboards. (The lack of a swirling pattern led our hero to suspect that the janitor wasn't what he appeared to be!). I was surprised! I hate getting the vacuum nozzles out to work the edges of the rug! That's why I ordered these washcloths. They're great for everything. Works pretty well on carpets and I've thrown away old rags and towels. My only gripe is that they aren't machine washable, but they rinse out easily and dry completely so next time they're as good as new.
