Review on πŸͺ’ Adjustable Safety Razor, Merkur Progress MK-500001 by Danielle Miles

Great upgrade: Men's

As a longtime 34c user, I didn't expect much from a shaver that only offered additional adjustment options. But as you can imagine, I was wrong. The Razor seems a lot less prone to "bite" as you know 34c can on the third pass. The advance seems to bend the blade a bit more and this makes the blade more secure. I started with one and quickly found it wasn't enough, upped it to 2 and the feel and sound was just right. I tried the 2.5 and it could actually cut but it seemed like I felt the blade a bit so I went back to the 2's which I had just passed. And finally something most don't mention. The sound of this razor on the skin is amazing. It's not the high-pitched click of purring when you cut your hair. it's more of a high pitched popping noise. The skin feeling when shaving with progress is very firm. You can feel the blade, but it does no harm. I'll add more in a later shave. To update. After getting used to it, I opened it up to 3 and I have to say if you can't go against the grain like me, you're going to love this razor. Just watch your angles because that gap can pull if you're not careful, but wow. I've always had a problem area where my neck muscle would get irritated no matter what I did, but this time I smacked it across the fibers with just a small amount of a Gillette slider and it was just as smooth as it was against the fibers. love the razor
