Review on πŸ’§ Enhanced H 300 Water Filter Cartridge by Everpure EV927075 by Shawn Tolbert

Lasts for several months before clogging.

I have been using Everpure filters for almost 19 years and they typically last at least 8 months. We drink a lot of bottled water, so the filter is used primarily for our morning coffee (40 ounces) and for cooking, which is about half a gallon a day. Technically it should last 600 days, but we usually replace it much sooner, well before it clogs. Also, to protect our expensive Everpure filter, we installed an in-line filter, a GE GXRTDR filtration system with external cooler/icemaker in front of the Everpure to reduce the possibility of clogging. Over the past two months, the flow of water from the filter has gradually decreased to such an extent that it now takes from 45 seconds to a minute to fill a liter container, which is excruciatingly slow and about half the rated flow. Today I decided to find out if there was a restriction in my GE or Everpure pre-filter, so I shut off the water supply to the filters, disconnected the hose coming out of the GE filter that feeds the Everpure, and the water back in switched on and the current was strong. I reconnected the GE to the Everpure and the flow was a trickle again so it really is an Everpure. Then I replaced the Everpure that I had been using for about 4 months (120 days at 0.5 gallons/day = 60 gallons or about 20% of its rated capacity) and voila, the flow rate was back to normal. Because it's not the first time. I had to throw away the expensive Everpure filter because of the "Jelly Flow", I'm really frustrated. The only reason I kept using Everpure is because it doesn't usually happen, but when it does and the company tells you bad luck, you feel cheated. In case you're wondering, I just got off the phone with Everpure Tech Support and they blame everything but the filter, and since I didn't buy it direct from them - too bad go back to the dealer and maybe they'll send you a replacement. At the moment I will deal with replacing the water filter H-300.
