I ordered this set of point pads as a third set. I love her. This set is a bit stiffer than my previous ones but I like it. I wouldn't be here without these patches. These pads, along with my massage gun, are the only thing that keep me from constant pain due to various health issues. If I get hurt I either lay on it or use my massage gun and I can do things again. If you've never used one of these, don't be put off by the fact that the needles are sharp when you get hold of them and touch them. You won't look like this when you lie on it. I personally use a very thin coating between the pads and the skin because I like the feel of the needles. You might get hurt if you're not used to pain, but I feel like it works much better and faster this way. If you use a t-shirt or something thicker to cover it, you will have to lie on it longer. With a thin layer (I use lace) you'll feel it more, but you only need to lie on it for a minute or two, not 20 minutes. The main reason I put the laces on in the first place is so they don't scratch me when I move them. I have sciatica on both sides of my thighs. I sleep on my side and had to keep turning over because of the pain. I lie on this pad every night before bed and get through the night pain free and only roll over because I want to, not because I HAVE to. What I did with one of the pillows was take a throw pillow and fold it in half. I covered the pillow with one of the pillows and sewed it together with the lace cover (see photo). It gives me a cushion that I can use to get more pressure. If you try to lie down on the mat while lying on the floor or in bed, you won't feel full contact in places like the curve of your lower back. You can just use a neck pillow for this, but like I said, I like to really feel it. A neck pillow that I also lean back on in my chair to relieve my back pain. I tuck it behind my back and walk vertically to run along my spine. Works perfectly.
