Review on 🌊 Current USA eFlux Accessory Wave Pump: Ultra Quiet, Compact, Compatible with Loop, for Marine & Freshwater Aquariums by Jamie Mason

Great idea, terrible reliability. 4 dead in less than 9 months

I had a custom built 65g tank Need a long tank with plenty of surface area for corals and fish to swim. The tank is 5 feet long and the drain pumps seemed ideal. I have modern headlights on my tank and they work very well. The tank looks fantastic. But the pumps are fine at best. The pumps ran for 2 months until one broke. Easy return guarantee. After 2 months the second pump stopped working. I returned that too. Now, only 4 months later, both new pumps are not working. Dead. Tried to change ports, connectors, etc. Nothing. I'm trying to decide if I want to go back to Current or just buy a different pump. I was very lucky with my old Vortex as it lasted 6 years in my old tank. You can switch and buy a second one. Expensive but they work and last a long time. Too bad these Current pumps don't last long as it's a great concept. Another problem with 1050 GPH pumps. They are very small, so to move a large amount of water they have to be accelerated to very high speeds. Slightly annoying noise, like having an underwater drone in your aquarium. I only programmed mine to 70% as I didn't like the noise. In addition, the current is very narrow. Would have preferred a much wider flow pattern. High hopes again. Terrible performance.
